GNO, Inc. Sunday Night Highlight – Louisiana Goes to the “Super Bowl” of Energy Events

Last week, Louisiana and GNO, Inc. made a major splash at CERAWeek in Houston, often dubbed the “Super Bowl of energy events.” CERAWeek was started by global energy guru Daniel Yergin, and featured over 10,000 attendees, including top energy leaders from around the world. Attendees this year included:

Louisiana announced our intention to be a national and global “All-of-the-Above” energy leader: producing energy for the economy and security, while driving towards ever-lower emissions. Highlights included:

  • The first-ever “Louisiana Future Energy House,” a venue for promoting the state and networking with prospects
  • Louisiana Economic Development Secretary Susan Bourgeois spoke on a “Mega-Hub” panel, that included Daniel Yergin, Dow CEO Jim Fitterling, and Danielle Smith, the Premier of Alberta
  • GNO, Inc. CEO Michael Hecht attended a private roundtable with Doug Burgum, U.S. Secretary of the Interior, discussing the Trump administration’s energy policy
  • Michael also spoke on a panel, Industrial Low-Carbon Hubs: Towards High-Impact Emissions Reductions
  • The Louisiana and GNO, Inc. teams met with dozens of corporate and country prospects, and left with at least six new potential projects
  • Louisiana Future Energy hosted the inaugural “Louisiana Future Energy Fest,” attended by over 500 business leaders

Our message for the week was that Louisiana is leading the charge into the energy future. We have a unique set of competitive advantages – infrastructure, workforce, and geology – along with invigorated leadership that understands that Louisiana Future Energy will both create opportunity at home, and serve the world.
