NOLA has Two of the Top Ten Festivals in the World

Music magazine Vents has ranked Jazz and Heritage Festival and Essence Festival as two of the ten “Best Music Festivals Around the Globe.”

New Orleans is the only city in the world with two festivals on the list, and has the region also has the highest number of festivals per capital in America. This recognition of live performance excellence comes at the same time that GNO, Inc. has launched its “New Orleans Music Economy” (NOME) initative, which aims to not only support live performance, but also to cultivate the “business of music” that supports it. This includes intellectual property management, artist management, songwriting, publishing, PR, legal, financial and beyond. The result will be not only more sustainable musicians, but substantial jobs and income for those who make their art possible.
