NOLA Hosts Global eSports Competition

This weekend, New Orleans and the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center are hosting the Call of Duty® World League (CWL), Presented by PlayStation®4.  The event is produced by Major League Gaming, the longest running eSports league in the world.   The three day event features some of the world’s best CWL teams competing in a series of events around the country for a prize pool of over $4,000,000.  CWL New Orleans has set a new record for participation, welcoming over 270 teams from North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific Region.

Greater New Orleans, Inc. worked with its partners at the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau, New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, and New Orleans Sports Foundation to help bring this event to Greater New Orleans, as part of a strategy to drive increased exposure for our growing video game cluster, and help solidify Greater New Orleans’ reputation as one of the best software markets for programmers (and players) in America.
