LA #5 in USA for New Millennials
According to a recent report from Porch.com, Louisiana is the #5 state in the nation for highest percentage of new millennial residents. The median age of people relocating to Louisiana was 27.6 years old in 2016, more than 20 months younger than the year prior, the greatest age decrease in the country.
Porch writes that “If there’s one industry that’s had a profound impact on migration patterns—it’s technology.” Interestingly, Louisiana is also #5 in the USA for growth in technology jobs.
To compile its data, Porch.com looked at the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2016 population estimates. Porch considers millennials to be 20- to 34-year-olds. You can read more here.
