Innovative Workspace Opens in the Arts District

NEW ORLEANS — Entrescan, the leading provider of additive manufacturing services for businesses and professionals in the Gulf South, and Phyllis M Taylor are pleased to announce the grand opening of Scale Workspace located at 612 Andrew Higgins, New Orleans, LA 70130. A grand opening event will be held at Scale Workspace on Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 2:45 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Designed to foster collaboration in manufacturing and product development, Scale Workspace is a co-working space with a modern industrial aesthetic. Tenants of Scale Workscape will have access to entrescan’s additive manufacturing lab and a larger makerspace, The New Curiosity Shop. Both fabrication labs are equipped with state of the art equipment aimed to support local businesses.

“Building physical products is hard and expensive. If we want more local companies to build their own products and bring that economic growth with them, we need to give them access to the right kind of resources,” said entrescan President Trey Richoux. “That’s what we do. We’re not here to make your company look bigger than it is. We’re here to make you and your business fundamentally more capable.”

“For some time, it has been my goal to open a makerspace,” said Phyllis M. Taylor. “That has now come to fruition through The New Curiosity Shop located in the Taylor Education Center. Scale Workspace has provided the avenue to make this facility available to businesses that need both state-of-the-art office space and the hands-on technology found in The New Curiosity Shop. I am very pleased that this relationship has been formed. We look forward to expansion to reach others within our community.”

“We are so proud of the work entrescan has done to support and grow innovation and production throughout the Greater New Orleans region. Scale Workspace is virtually another phase of this work, and we are thrilled to partner with the entire team to attract and support makers and innovators,” said Michael Hecht, president and CEO of GNO, Inc. “Through partnerships and the leadership of Phyllis M Taylor, we now have a hub for innovation. ”

Mrs. Phyllis M Taylor and GNO, Inc. will be on site to celebrate the opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony. After the ceremony, entrescan will host a tour of Scale Workspace.

Since 2014, entrescan has worked to support and encourage the physical production of innovative products, technology and the arts in a collaborative environment in their home town of New Orleans.
