Gov. Edwards, Litify Announce Tech Firm’s Entry into New Orleans
Baton Rouge — Gov. John Bel Edwards, New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell and Litify founder Reuven Moskowitz announced the company will open a new regional office in New Orleans and create 20 new direct jobs by the close of 2020.
Headquartered in New York City, Litify is an integrated, intuitive legal technology platform that empowers law firms of all sizes to seamlessly manage their business operations. Litify’s platform enables clients to leverage real-time data to produce insights about growing their law practices.
“We are proud to welcome Litify to the Greater New Orleans market,” said President and CEO Michael Hecht of GNO Inc. “Litify will complement our growing technology and digital industry, while bringing new quality jobs to the region.”
“We’re pleased that Litify has chosen Louisiana and New Orleans for its first regional expansion outside New York,” Gov. Edwards said. “Our recipe for talent, training and technology is unmatched, and we are continuing to position our state and our workforce to thrive in tomorrow’s economy. In fact, Business Facilities described New Orleans this summer as a ‘low-cost, high-culture’ business destination that is ‘the world’s next great technology hub.’ We couldn’t have said it any better ourselves.”
The 20 new direct jobs will provide an average annual salary of $65,000, plus benefits. Louisiana Economic Development estimates the project will result in an additional 25 new indirect jobs, for a total of 45 new jobs in Southeast Louisiana.
New Orleans is the first in a series of regional offices planned by Litify, which currently serves over 100 law firms nationwide. Litify has experienced tremendous demand from New Orleans law firms and firms throughout the Southeast U.S. for its state-of-the-art legal technology.
“As a native New Orleanian who chose to move home, I know the city is a fantastic place to live and work,” said New Orleans native Alfredo Sanchez, Litify’s Southeast director. “It is a hub full of talented professionals that will help us grow our development, support, sales and administrative teams. The New Orleans Business Alliance helped us realize the benefits of growing Litify jobs in New Orleans, and their services are another testament to the supportive business environment the city offers.”
Litify’s New Orleans office will include career opportunities in engineering, marketing, support, professional services, human resources, cloud operations, development operations, leadership, consulting, project management and sales.
“We are continuing to create high-quality jobs and making it possible for emerging high-technology businesses to prosper in New Orleans,” said Mayor LaToya Cantrell. “New Orleans is taking her place in the world for technology and STEM, and was recently named a Top Tech Hub in America. We are playing to our strengths by being bolder when it comes to STEM and using our environment to spur job creation and further economic development. We are seeing more technology companies expanding their presence in our city, showing that New Orleans and her people are worth investment and growth.”
The New Orleans Business Alliance initially met with Litify’s leadership to discuss employee growth potential in March 2019. Litify and LED have discussed the company’s participation in the state’s Digital Interactive Media and Software Development Incentive and the Quality Jobs Program.
“We are delighted to welcome Litify to New Orleans,” said President and CEO Quentin L. Messer Jr. of the New Orleans Business Alliance. “Litify’s decision to locate this office in New Orleans is another great step in the diversification of the city’s economy, and recognition of our place as a new national digital services hub. New Orleans has long been known as a regional legal center and Litify’s decision to invest in the city is another proof-point in New Orleans’ ability to leverage traditional strengths, in this case, expertise in the law, in new innovative ways.”
Litify recently announced a Series A investment of $50 million by Tiger Global Management LLC. The financing will be used to fund Litify’s continued growth and operations, with a focus on expanding its offerings to a broader customer base, including in-house counsel, a corporate law offering for mid-sized to large firms, and an off-the-shelf solution for smaller law firms.
Demonstrating its commitment to New Orleans, Litify is bringing its LitiQuestX conference to the Windsor Court Hotel on Sept. 26, 2019. LitiQuestX brings the brightest legal and technology minds together to discuss the future of the legal industry. Litify will welcome former New Orleans Saints player Steve Gleason as the event’s keynote speaker. Attendees will enjoy the opportunity to meet Gleason during the conference. The one-day-only free conference is hosted in collaboration with Esquire Bank and the New Orleans Business Alliance.
