GNO, Inc. Sunday Night Highlight – Louisiana Wins 6 At The 66th Grammy Awards

Louisiana continued to over-index in music, with Louisiana-based musicians, composers and ensembles receiving more than a dozen Grammy nominations this year, and six nominees taking home Grammys from last week’s event.

“Good Morning” by PJ Morton featuring Susan Carol

Bell Bottom Country by Lainey Wilson

Best Traditional Blues Album
All My Love For You by Bobby Rush

Best Regional Roots Music Album (Tie)
New Beginnings by Buckwheat Zydeco Jr. & The Legendary Ils Sont Partis Band

Terence Blanchard: Champion – Yannick Nézet-Séguin, conductor; Ryan Speedo Green, Latonia Moore & Eric Owens; David Frost, producer (The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra; The Metropolitan Opera Chorus)

Coinciding with the event, GNO, Inc. and Louisiana Entertainment hosted two gatherings for the music industry to promote Louisiana as an ideal location for music business operations:  a mixer for the Producers and Engineers Guild of the Grammy’s which celebrates the people behind the microphone – including local Jay Weigel, who produced the Grammy-winning Lost Bayou Ramblers live album; and, an event for music executives in Los Angeles.
