GNO, Inc. Sunday Night Highlight – Louisiana Puts Its Money Where It’s Manufacturing Is 💰🙌
“Site Readiness” is the secret sauce of economic development.
Recognizing this, Louisiana has taken an important step towards long-term economic development by announcing the first 19 locations that will benefit from “FastSites” investment. Backed by the $150 million Site Investment and Infrastructure Improvement Fund (created by Act 365 of the 2025 Legislative Session) and led by Louisiana Economic Development, FastSites directs millions of dollars toward preparing high-quality manufacturing and other sites to compete nationally for major projects and employers.
Five of the selected sites are located in Greater New Orleans. These include:
- Avondale Global Gateway (Maritime, Jefferson Parish)
- Esperanza (Manufacturing, St. Charles Parish)
- Franklinton Industrial Park (Manufacturing, Washington Parish)
- Gulf South Commerce Park (Logistics, St. Tammany Parish)
- Naval Support Activity Site (Maritime, Energy /Orleans Parish)
The FastSites initiative is designed for long-term impact. Rather than a one-time investment, the program operates as revolving capital, with funds expected to be repaid as sites are sold or leased and then reinvested into preparing additional locations for development. This model helps ensure that Louisiana continues to build a pipeline of ready-to-go sites capable of competing for transformative projects.
