GNO #3 In South For Major Projects 2015

Greater New Orleans has been awarded an “Honorable Mention” for ranking #3 for major economic development projects in the South in 2015. In its annual ranking, Southern Business & Development magazine considers job creation and capital investment for new projects with over 200 jobs and/or $30M invested. Greater New Orleans just missed being named Major Market of the Year, with 175 total points to the 185 total points of Nashville and Charlotte.

The Top Five Major Markets of 2015 were:

1. Nashville – 185 points
2. Charlotte – 185
3. Greater New Orleans – 175
4. Knoxville – 100
5. Baton Rouge – 45

Greater New Orleans has now been named “Major Market of the Year” or “Honorable Mention Major Market of the Year” eight of the ten years since 2005.
