$10B, 9,000-Job Project In Feasibility For GNO
Taiwanese Formosa Petrochemical Corp. has announced it is actively studying the feasibility of building a $9.4 billion industrial complex in St. James Parish, in Greater New Orleans.
The project would be one of the largest single-site ethylene (used to make plastics and more) production complexes in the world, and result in the creation of 1,200 new direct jobs at at average salary of over $84,000, and over 9,000 total jobs. A final decision is expected by mid-2016.
