YCI Breaks Ground On $1.9B Facilty

Last week, Yuhuang Chemical (YCI) broke ground on a $1.9B methanol facility in St. James parish.  The project is expected to create 400 permanent jobs with an average salary of $85,000 a year, as well as 2,100 temporary construction jobs at the peak.  YCI’s facility represents the first investment ever from mainland China in Louisiana, which now leads the nation in foreign direct investment (FDI) per capita.  You can read more here.
