Tulane Business Forum Undergoes Digital Transformation

In its 39th annual program, “Digital Transformation: Strategy to Execution,” the Tulane Business Forum features a group of renowned industry leaders who will address digital transformation and its applications in the workplace. Presenters will speak to how digital uses provide technological advances in business, while at the same time allow companies to explore innovative ideas and problem-solving methods rather than use traditional procedures.

This year’s forum features keynote speakers Leo P. Denault, chairman and CEO of Entergy Corporation (New Orleans), and Joseph Ochipinti, CEO of UnitedHealthcare – Gulf States Region (Metairie). Denault will provide Entergy’s perspective on rapidly advancing technology and how it affects consumer expectations of service providers and presents new opportunities to redefine the value on which Entergy delivers.

Ochipinti will share details on how the healthcare industry has joined forces to treat chronic conditions, increase employer satisfaction and collaborate with health systems while delivering higher quality care for lower total costs.

The Tulane Business Forum, presented by Entergy Corporation, underwritten by Capital One and UnitedHealthcare, and sponsored by the Tulane Association of Business Alumni, will be held on Friday, September 21, 8:15 a.m. to 1:25 p.m., at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

Other presenters include: Patrick Norton, senior vice president, COO and treasurer of Tulane University (New Orleans), who will provide welcoming remarks.

Roger E. O’Donnell, partner – global head data and analytics, audit of KPMG LLP (New York), will speak about the considerable influence of data and technology in business and everyday life and how people are meeting the challenges of these emerging trends and their impacts. He will also touch on the role education plays in preparing today’s workforce for the digital environment.

Walt Green, partner (cybersecurity, privacy & data protection – pre-breach planning; regulatory), and Christopher K. Ralston, partner (cybersecurity, privacy & data protection – litigation), both of Phelps Dunbar LLP (New Orleans) will present a lessons-learned approach from recent data breaches to provide best practices to key decision makes in the event of a cyber incident. Topics to be explored include regulator trends to federal and state enforcement and cyber incident response plans.

Michael Hecht, president and CEO of Greater New Orleans, Inc. will facilitate a fireside chat on the deal that brought DXC Technology and the city’s single largest job announcement to New Orleans. Along with Terrell Boynton, director and general manager of New Orleans Digital Transformation Center DXC Technology, and David Snyder, chairman, president and CEO of REALSCAPE Group (Westlake, Ohio), Hecht will discuss the successes and lessons learned from the key people who brokered the deal.

The Tulane Association of Business Alumni of the A. B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University represents over 20,000 alumni worldwide, and the forum is its marquee event. Each year, the forum features speakers of national and international acclaim who address a variety of general business topics.

Forum registration, which includes continental breakfast and lunch, is $250 for the general public and $175 for Tulane alumni. Accountants can earn five Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits; engineers can earn five Professional Development Hour (PDH) credits; and attorneys can earn four Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits by attending the forum.
