3rd Annual Emerge Summit Announces Speakers and Opening of Nominations for 7th Annual Millennial Awards

NEW ORLEANS – Greater New Orleans, Inc. (GNO, Inc.) and the Spears Group and have partnered to present the third annual Emerge Summit in partnership with The Millennial Awards to bring together hundreds of young professionals from across the Gulf Coast for a weekend of programming. The 2019 Emerge Summit is returning better than ever and will take place on July 25 and July 26 at the Ace Hotel, with the seventh annual Millennial Awards ceremony concluding the celebration on Friday evening.

Emerge Summit will bring together local and nationally acclaimed speakers, influencers, and change-makers to offer insightful and inspiring sessions relevant to career development and personal growth. The exciting lineup of speakers includes Calvin Wells, venture capitalist featured in the Netflix and Hulu Fyre Festival documentaries; PJ Morton, Morton Records, Maroon 5, Grammy Winning artist; Big Freedia, artist, TV personality, Queen of Bounce; Jennifer Weischaupt, founder an co-CEO, the Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group; Bivian “Sonny” Lee III, founder and CEO at Son of a Saint; Ayame Dinkler, chief of staff at LCMC Health; Austin Sherman, CEO and co-founder of Big Easy Bucha; to name a few. The Millennial Awards, conceived and produced by the Spears Group for the last seven years, will honor more than 18 dynamic young professionals who make significant contributions to their communities. Nominations for this year’s awards are currently open to the public and will be taken through June 18 at emergesummit.co.

This year’s winners will be chosen by a distinguished panel of judges comprised of notable young professionals and previous award winners. Notable past recipients of the Millennial Award include Bivian “Sonny” Lee, founder of Son of a Saint; Kenny Nguyen, CEO of ThreeSixtyEight; Greg Tillery, owner of We Dat’s Chicken & Shrimp; filmmaker Edward Buckles; Alejandra Guzman, VP of Performance Management and Strategy at New Orleans Business Alliance; and April Dupré, founder of Footprints to Fitness; among others.
