New Orleans ranks #1 City for Fastest Median Wage Growth

To determine the cities with the fastest and slowest wage growth since 2005, Headlight looked wage data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), adjusting for inflation, for the 52 metro areas in the U.S. with populations of one million people or more.

At the top of the list is the New Orleans, Louisiana, metro area, with a median wage that’s grown 6.5% since 2005, bolstered in large part by new home construction and tourism.
