Cox Updates – Hurricane Francine
From September 14, 2024
As of 10 a.m. today, we have restored service to 92% of our customers in the Greater New Orleans area affected by Hurricane Francine. In the Acadiana and Greater Baton Rouge areas, we have restored service to 84% of impacted customers.
We still have work ahead, particularly in the hardest hit areas of Donaldsonville and Gonzales. Our crews are continuing to work diligently behind power restoration in these areas.
A few reminders:
- Customers are set to receive SMS and email notifications with updated service restoration information. If a customer has received notice that major repairs have been completed to their neighborhood and is still experiencing issues, they should complete the following steps:
- Reset their device by unplugging and plugging it back in.
- If resetting the equipment doesn’t get it back online, customers should chat with us at cox.com.
- If service is not restored, please contact Cox at 877-556-7815 to schedule a service call.
- If you see a downed line in your area that needs to be addressed, please report it using the chat feature on cox.com.
- Please know that just because power has been restored, it doesn’t mean that Cox services will immediately follow. There can be damages to the Cox network which impact services even though you may not be able to see the damage from your home or neighborhood. In those situations, know that we are working as quickly and safely as possible to fix any additional damage to our network.
- Intermittent service outages may occur as providers are working to replace lines, remove trees and restore equipment to power from generators.
