GNO, Inc./BRAC International Trade Study

In the first major joint effort between GNO, Inc. and Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC), the organizations presented the results of a sweeping study of the international trade and logistics landscape, and how Southeast Louisiana can best leverage its unique assets for the greatest economic benefit. The study, conducted by Booz Allen Hamilton, a premier international management consultancy, focused on how the region can maximize its competitive strengths, by assessing what assets are available, and what assets need to be developed.

Results included:

  • Marketing strategy should focus on North-South trade routes
  • Infrastructure strategy should focus first on the completion of the Napoleon Avenue Phase II project, and then on a potential larger project down river

  • Coordinated regional governance is key
