New Orleans Ranks 5th Among Best Places to Find a Job

New Orleans ranks fifth, tied with eight other cities, in a list of the best places to find a job, according to a new report by the search engine Indeed.com.

In New Orleans there is one job posting for every three unemployed people.

Washington, D.C., topped the rankings with six job openings for every one unemployed person.

The list ranks the 50 most populous U.S. cities by the ratio of job postings to unemployed citizens. Here’s the top 10 and each city’s respective ratio:

1. Washington, D.C., 6:1

2. Jacksonville, Fla., 3:1

3. Baltimore, 1:1

4. Salt Lake City, 1:2

5. New York, 1:2

6. San Jose, Calif., 1:2

7. Hartford, Conn., 1:2

8. Oklahoma City, 1:3

9. Austin, Texas, 1:3

10. Boston 1:3
