GNO, Inc. Launches New Orleans Music Economy Initiative

Last Thursday, GNO, Inc. and partners launched the New Orleans Music Economy (NOME) Initiative, with the goal of developing a true music economy in Greater New Orleans. This means not just the live performance for which Greater New Orleans is already renown, but all the other jobs – IP management, publishing, marketing, professional and creative services – that support the industry. The result will be not only more sustainable musicians, but thousands of new jobs and millions in new wealth for all residents. Past-chair Tara Hernandez is board lead for GNO, Inc. NOME is supported by IBERIABANK, The Helis Foundation, New Orleans & Co., Loyola University, Louisiana Entertainment, the Downtown Development District, NOISE Fest, New Orleans Business Alliance, the City of New Orleans and others.
