II. K-12 in the 10-Parishes (Public)

  • Orleans Parish: all Recovery School District (RSD) direct-run schools in the Greater New Orleans region and Orleans Parish School Board schools are open

  • Jefferson Parish Public Schools:Grand Isle School will reopen for students Thursday, September 6, 2012, ahead of the schedule previously reported.

    All but four JPPSS schools will reopen for students on Thursday, September 6, 2012.

    The following four campuses will reopen Monday, September 10, 2012:
    Leo E. Kerner, Jr., Elementary School in Lafitte Fisher Middle-High School in Lafitte John Ehret High School in Marrero Stella Worley Middle School in Westwego

  • St. John the Baptist Parish Public Schools will re-open as follows:

    East St. John Elementary School
    Fifth Ward Elementary School
    John L. Ory Magnet School
    LaPlace Elementary School
    Emily C. Watkins Elementary School
    St. John Alternative School
    West St. John High School
    West St. John Elementary School ~ including Pre-K Monday, September 17, 2012 Lake Pontchartrain Elementary School students
    (at the rerouted sites)

    HeadStart and Pre-K – (HeadStart and Pre-K students that attended Lake Pontchartrain Elementary will be housed at the St. John Child Development Center in Garyville.)

    East St. John High School (TENTATIVE DATE)

  • St. Bernard Parish Public Schools: are open
  • Plaquemines Parish Public Schools: Boothville-Venice Elementary, Phoenix High, Plaquemines Parish Learning Center, South Plaquemiines Elementary and South Plaquemines High, will reopen on Monday, September 10th.

    Families unable to return home can enroll their child in a public school in the parish they are currently residing.

  • St. James Parish Public Schools: are open
  • Tangipahoa Parish Public Schools: are open
  • St. Tammany Parish Public Schools: are open
