Attendees by the thousands will descend in the Crescent City for the New Orleans Collision Conference, which begins today.
Many of the visitors have been here before.
It’s the third year of having Collision, said Michael Hecht, President and CEO of Greater New Orleans Inc. “It’s now the fastest growing technology conference in America and it became that during it’s time here in New Orleans.”
They’ll hear from speakers from the president of Microsoft to former Vice President Al Gore.
“We’ll expect between 20 and 30 thousand people from at least 90 countries around the world all coming in to hear from speakers, to meet each other, and network and pitch their companies,” Hecht said.
Hecht says it doesn’t hurt that it’s right in the middle of a pretty, big festival in town, too.
“Yeah, you know, it’s funny, you put a conference in between the two weekends of Jazz Fest and somehow people show up,” he laughed.
New Orleans is chosen because it is the number one fastest growing technology market in America.
