Louisiana is No. 10 in economic development efforts, publication says

Louisiana’s economic development efforts, along with those of a New Orleans-based group, are among the top 10 in the country, according to Site Selection.

The Atlanta-based publication ranked the state’s work in attracting projects among the top 10 in the United States for the year in its evaluation of economic development performance by each of the 50 states. Louisiana came in at No. 10 with its new and expanded facilities, capital investment and job creation.

Site Selection also recognized Greater New Orleans Inc. as a top 10 economic development group in the United States.

The distinction is part of the magazine’s annual “Global Best to Invest Awards.” GNO Inc. was judged along with other economic development organizations in the country based on six categories: total projects, total investment and jobs associated with those projects, as well as those same three numbers calculated per capita for the metro area.
