Greater New Orleans, Inc. Named a Top 20 Economic Development Group in America

New Orleans, La. — Today, Greater New Orleans, Inc. (GNO, Inc.) announced that it has been named to Site Selection magazine’s “Top 20 Economic Development Groups in America” list.
“Being named one of the top 20 economic development organizations in America is outstanding recognition of our staff, board and supporters,” said Michael Hecht, President and CEO of Greater New Orleans, Inc. “Most of all, it is testament to the fact that the ‘new’ Greater New Orleans is one of the best places in the country today for business.”
In developing these rankings, Site Selection weighed jobs, capital investment, jobs per capita and investment per capita. Over the past year, $3.4 billion in capital investment has been made and 1,988 new direct jobs have been created in the Greater New Orleans region.
Additional criteria include the creativity of economic development strategy; scope of project activity; and the ability to accurately document the link between the EDO and real results.
