Familiarization Tour brings national site selectors to region

Strong interest in changing perceptions and renewed business climate in the region

New Orleans, LA – Greater New Orleans, Inc., the regional economic alliance, has organized a Familiarization Tour that will bring site selectors and location advisors to the region to learn more about the varied business climate and opportunities within the ten parishes. Specific issues to be pressed include the full range of business incentives, and business development opportunities within three of GNO, Inc.’s target sectors, Energy, Petrochemicals and Plastics, International Trade and Logistics, and Advanced Manufacturing.

The contingent includes seven professionals who are traveling from around the country who welcome the opportunity to get updates on new incentives, policies, and opportunities that may affect their clients’ relocation and expansion decisions. The site selectors, who arrive on Wednesday, November 5, will be led by GNO, Inc. President/CEO Michael Hecht, and joined by business executives from around the region who will speak in depth and provide testimonial to the advantages of doing business in the New Orleans region.

The two day itinerary includes tours around the region, and several roundtable style discussions with key business executives, local economic development groups, and Louisiana Economic Development officials. The Familiarization Tour is part of GNO, Inc.’s overall strategy to nationally market the region as a hub of opportunity with unique competitive advantages.

Michael Hecht said about the tour, “Having these professionals on the ground to learn about the region’s target industries by speaking with business executives provides an open forum for this key audience to see the region first-hand, and hear directly from the region’s representatives on why the 10 parish region should be considered for expansion and relocation projects.”

Site selectors may be available to press for comments regarding the region and target sectors upon request. For more information, please contact Austin Marks at 504.527.6942 or amarks@gnoinc.org.
