St. Tammany EDF to Host Small Business Workshops During the Month of May
Free training sessions to cover a breadth of topics

St. Tammany EDF is proud to host ‘‘From Concept to Marketplace: Starting, Developing & Growing Your Business into a Success!’‘ a free workshop presented by the Louisiana Business & Technology Center, LSU E.J. Ourso College of Business.
The workshops will be held Monday, May 4 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at the Slidell Memorial Hospital Founders Building, 1150 Robert Blvd. in Slidell.
Morning Session (8:30 am to 11:30 am) will cover the following topics:
Government R&D Grants
Partnering with a University
Working with Federal Labs
Access to Capital
Government Contracting
State Incentives
Completing a business plan
Resources in LA You Can Use
NASA/Stennis Space Center
Afternoon Session (1:30 pm to 4:30 pm) will cover:
Intellectual Property for small businesses and entrepreneurs
Patents/Trademarks/Copyrights (Jan Thomas, LSU Patent Research Library)

Now more than ever, it’s important for small businesses to instill a sales-service culture and get everybody on board to growing the customer-base. It’s a team effort to obtain and retain customers! In today’s economy, ‘‘non-traditional salespeople’‘ play a important role in sharing the value a company offers its customers and shaping a positive experience, while building solid relationships. This is the foundation to selling and it’s important for everybody to embrace this concept and the power of their role.
Join St. Tammany EDF as we host a free seminar titled ‘‘Mind Shifts to Effective Sel! ling; Everybody Sells!’‘ presented by the SLU Small Business Development Center on Thursday, May 14 from 9am to 11am at the SLU St. Tammany Center, 21454 Koop Drive, 3rd Floor, Room 325 in Mandeville.
Who should attend?: ‘‘Non- traditional salespeople’‘, such as Business owners, front-line staff, back-office staff, delivery people— as well as ‘‘traditional’‘ salespeople.
