Business Incentives Workshop Hosted by JEDCO
(April 30, 2009 – Metairie, LA) Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission (JEDCO) is co-sponsoring a Business Incentives Workshop with Louisiana Economic Development (LED), the Louisiana Department of Revenue, and the Louisiana Workforce Commission. State officials will explain the different state economic development programs and business tax incentives. Some of the programs to be discussed include Research and Development, Restoration Tax Abatement, Enterprise Zone, Small and Emerging Business Development, LA Contractors Accreditation Institute, Angel Investor Program, Industrial Tax Exemption, Quality Jobs, Microenterprise Development, Bonding Assistance and the Mentor- Protégé Program.
The rules will be explained and participants will learn the details of required submissions for each program. In addition to state incentives, a certified public accountant and tax director, Sharon Cassiere, of the firm Postlethwaite and Netterville will discuss federal tax incentives for businesses stemming from the 2009 Federal Stimulus Package. The workshop is free but registration is necessary due to limited seating.
